I shoot 1st person/body camera. I have an approach to be both in- and outside of my footage, sometimes behind, sometimes in front of the camera. Rather than direct, I facilitate, absorb and set-up actions and interactions. I allow myself to be completely engulfed by what is being filmed. My films portray ‘Aesthetics of Life’: my cultural prism and the people that come in and out of it. Working between the UK and the Netherlands, I depict culturally specific worlds shaped by my own rules, beliefs and doctrines, political systems and mediated technologies. I habitually document and hoard, then I edit to bring stupefying moments of good timing with image/sound.
